Understanding Mental Health Conditions
Everyone’s journey is different. Here’s a closer look at the mental health conditions I work with—and how we can help you or your loved one find clarity, comfort, and healing.

Depression
Depression is more than just feeling sad—it’s a persistent mental health condition that affects mood, thoughts, and daily life. Symptoms include prolonged sadness, loss of interest, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and changes in appetite or sleep. Therapy, lifestyle changes, and sometimes medication can help manage depression effectively.

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
ADHD affects focus, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. It’s commonly diagnosed in childhood but can persist into adulthood. Symptoms include difficulty staying on task, forgetfulness, impulsive actions, and restlessness. Treatment options include behavioral therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and medication for better focus and impulse control

Anxiety
Anxiety is a natural response to stress but can become overwhelming when persistent. It often leads to excessive worry, restlessness, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty focusing. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic attacks, and social anxiety are common types. Therapy, relaxation techniques, and medication can help regulate anxiety.

Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED)
Uncontrolled anger can negatively impact relationships and well-being. Anger management helps individuals recognize triggers, develop coping strategies, and express emotions healthily. Techniques include deep breathing, cognitive restructuring, and communication skills training to prevent outbursts and improve self-control.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects social interactions, communication, and behavior. Individuals with ASD may have sensory sensitivities, repetitive behaviors, and difficulty understanding social cues. Early intervention, behavioral therapy, and support systems can help improve social skills and independence.

Insomnia
Insomnia involves difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early. It leads to daytime fatigue, irritability, and impaired concentration. Causes include stress, anxiety, lifestyle habits, or medical conditions. Treatment includes improving sleep hygiene, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-I), and, in some cases, medication.

Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar Disorder is characterized by extreme mood swings, alternating between depressive episodes and manic (high-energy) states. Symptoms include intense shifts in mood, energy levels, and behavior. Treatment involves mood stabilizers, therapy, and lifestyle changes to manage episodes effectively.

Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a serious mental health condition affecting perception, thinking, and behavior. Symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, and difficulty distinguishing reality from imagination. Treatment includes antipsychotic medication, therapy, and support for daily functioning.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD involves recurring, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) performed to ease anxiety. These cycles can disrupt daily life. We offer proven therapies like CBT and ERP to help clients break free and regain control.
